Mrs. Florence Terry Gibson, 89, of Parsippany, NJ and formerly of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Care One At Morris, Parsippany Troy Hill, NJ. Mrs. Gibson was born in Mecklenburg County, VA February 13, 1922 to the late John and Pattie Johnson Terry. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was previously employed in Nursing. Mrs. Gibson was a member of Mount Ararat Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, President of the Missionary and Youth Counselor. She was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Gibson, Sr., two children, Denese Gibson-Crewe, and Carlos Gibson; and six siblings, Mildred Darden, Sarah Tindell, Bernard A. Terry, Wilson S. Terry, Savannah Terry and Homer Terry. Cherishing her memories are one daughter, Yvonne G. Harris (Alfred) of Richmond, VA; two sons, Mark Gibson (Dolores), Parsippany, NJ and Dardner Gibson of Grand Rapids, MI; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Joyce T. Small,  Catherine T. Burwell and Ruth Terry all of Morristown, NJ and Lovella Smith, Clarksville, VA; two brothers, John M. Terry (Mary), Plainfield, NJ and Alaster G. Terry, Morristown, NJ; son-in-law Wayne R. Crewe, Richmond, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Florence T. Gibson will be conducted 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Mount Ararat Baptist Church, Clarksville, VA with Rev. Raymond  A. Roberts Sr., officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are by C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
