Florence Gregory Smith

Mrs. Florence Gregory Smith, 80, of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Chase City Health and Rehab Center, Chase City, VA. Mrs. Smith was born in Boydton, VA April 18, 1937 to the late Milton Floyd and Mary Duncan Gregory. She was a graduate of East End High School, South Hill, VA and was a member of St. Mark UHC, Boydton, VA. Mrs. Smith was formerly employed as a teacher’s aide with the Essex County School System in New Jersey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Smith; four sisters, Helen Gregory Morse, Margaret Binford, Elizabeth Jones and Hazel Barnes, and two brothers, Dalton Gregory and Nelson Lee Gregory. She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Curtis Smith of East Orange, NJ; two grandchildren, one great-grandchild; one brother, Joe Louis Gregory of East Orange, NJ; two sisters, Virginia Blalock (Clarence) of Boydton, VA and Shirley Goodman of Asheville, NC, numerous nieces and nephews, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Gregory Smith will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Elder Charles D. Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Gregory Family Cemetery, Boydton, VA. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
