Mrs. Everlean Hawkins Harrison, 87, of Whitsett, NC and formerly of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Alamance, Burlington, NC. Mrs. Harrison was born in Chase City, VA on May 19, 1934 to the late Cornelius and Nannie Hawkins. She attended the historic Thyne Institute, in Chase City, VA and accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Bloom Hill Baptist Church. Upon relocating to Morristown, NJ in 1952, she gained employment with All Souls Hospital, Greystone State Hospital and Clay Adams. In June of 1954 she married the late Victor Weeks, and this union was blessed with three children: Vernnita, Rickie and Barry. She later married the late Rev. Dr. Frank S. Harrison, former pastor of Williams Grove Baptist Church in Chase City, VA. As first lady, Mrs. Harrison served as president of the Missionary Board for several years at Williams Grove and Berean Baptist Church. She also received her Associate Degree in Biblical Theology from Triune Biblical University. Mrs. Harrison retired from Virginia Quilting. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Solomon, Roosevelt, Cornelius, Wilbur and George Lee Hawkins. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her children, Vernnita Haynes (Raymond), Rickie Weeks and Barry Weeks; nine grandchildren, Cherease Loving (Duane), Rickie Weeks, Jr. (Tiphany), Jason Drummond (Amber), Kaisha Weeks, Demar Drummond (Ajenay), Jemile Weeks, Malcolm Weeks, Ashley Weeks and Jordann Weeks; eleven great-grandchildren, Imani Evans, Myles Loving, Princeton Loving, Ayden Drummond, Jemila Weeks, Jayla Weeks, Dominic Drummond, Rickie Weeks III, Jayson Drummond, Alexi Weeks and Xavier Drummond; great-great grandchild, Rukia Brown; five sisters, Cholrine Parks (Irvin) of Morristown, NJ, Priscilla Stith, Joan Jones of Evans, GA, Odessa Rogers (Jamie) of South Hill, VA, and Carolyn Walker of Broadnax, VA; god daughters, Deloris Russel and Euradina Brooks, a god grandchild, Michelle Lee, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Everlean H. Harrison will be conducted 12:00 Noon, Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. Kevin Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Williams Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA. Public viewing will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Mask are required to be worn for all viewings and services. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
