Evelyn Yvonne Venable-Sconion

Mrs. Evelyn Yvonne Venable-Sconion entered eternal rest on Sunday, November 13, 2022 in Winston Salem, North Carolina.

Mrs. Venable-Sconion was born in Mecklenburg County, Virginia on November 19, 1942 to the late Eddie and Anna Lee Venable. She attended Mount Ararat Baptist Church in Clarksville, VA and was educated in the public schools of Mecklenburg County, Virginia. Evelyn later relocated to New Jersey where she gained employment with the Newark Board of Education for 29 years as an Educator. She was known to her students as Ms. E. or Ms. Lloyd. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her children and her pets, Queen Esther, Muffin and Onyx.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd C. Sconion; sisters, Christine Jordan and Loretta Darden; brothers, Roy, Weststovel, Warden, Charles, and Floyd Venable.

She leaves to mourn her passing, but cherish her memory her children, Bridget V. Foreman (James), Lloyd M. Sconion, Jr., Lisa K. Simmonds (Anthony) and Craig Sconion; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; her siblings, Estell Smith, Patricia Darden, Josephine Comas, Clarence (Stella), Russell, and Freddie Venable of Clarksville, VA and Stanley Leath of Elizabeth, NJ and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral service will be conducted 12:00 Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022 at the chapel of C.H. Harris Funeral Home, With Rev. Raymond Roberts, officiating. Public viewing for family and friends will begin Tuesday from 11:00 Am until 12:00 Noon.
