Evelyn Evans Shelton

Mrs. Evelyn Evans Shelton, 83, of Baltimore, MD and formerly of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest on Monday, December 1, 2014 at Bon Secours Hospital, Baltimore, MD.  Mrs. Shelton was born February 6, 1931 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia to the late Willie Moore Evans and Daphne Virginia Simmons.   She attended Mecklenburg County Public Schools and was an active member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Boydton, VA.  She later met and married the late Henry Shelton in 1968. She was a caregiver for many years before relocating to Baltimore, Maryland.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by eight brothers, David, Sydney, Willie, Lou Ellis, Robert, Roy, Walter, Benny and three sisters, Alice, Vergie, and Lucille. She leaves to cherish her memories one sister-in-law, Louise Evans of Boydton, VA; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; numerous cousins; devoted cousin, Rosa Lee Simmons of Baskerville, VA and other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Evans Shelton will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Elder Charles D. Allen, officiating.  Burial will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, Boydton, VA.  Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service.  Services  11:00 A.M.
