Evelyn Brooks Brown

Ms. Evelyn Brooks Brown, 86, of Chase City, VA, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Chase City Health and Rehab Center. Ms. Brown was born in Charlotte County, VA on February 22, 1934 to the late Richard Hassie and Mary Catherine Dailey Brooks. She attended the schools of Charlotte County, VA, and was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church in Red Oak, VA. Ms. Brown was a retiree of Jonbil, Inc. She enjoyed shopping, eating out, caring for her nieces and nephews, and gospel music. In addition to her parents, Ms. Brown was preceded in death by two sisters: Lucinda Staten and Barbra Jean Brooks, and five brothers: Sonny, Robert, Herman, Ernest, and Dorsey Brooks. Cherishing her memories are one brother, Harvey Lee Brooks (Mary) of Falls Church, VA; two sisters; Rosa Mae Williams of Philadelphia, PA and Gwen Canada of Chase City, VA; two special nieces, Audrey Denise Pleasant and Gina C. Staten both of Chase City, VA; one sister-in-law, Barbara Long Brooks, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A memorial service for Ms. Evelyn Brooks Brown will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, June 12, 2020 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Marvin Harris officiating. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
