Evelyn Brooks

Miss Evelyn Brooks, 62, of Red Oak, VA entered eternal rest Monday, January 25, 2021 at her residence. Miss Brooks was born in South Boston, VA Nov. 5, 1958 to the late Lee Edward Brooks and Lucy Mae Ghee Brooks. She attended Randolph Henry High School, and was formerly employed by Jones Apparel. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA. In her spare time, she enjoyed listening to music, watching football, softball and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her aunts, Mary Frances Mosley and Lucy Mae Redd and her uncles, Willie Ghee and Samuel Ghee. She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Felissa M. Brooks (Terrence) of Red Oak, VA; two grandchildren, Jaliyah Walton and Tykeria Brooks; three sisters, Rose Marie Brooks, Joeann Smith (Walter) and Henrietta Mosley (Alvin) all of Red Oak, VA; two brothers, Lee Brooks Jr. (Pamela) of Scottsburg, VA and Clarence Brooks of Red Oak, VA; one sister-in-law, two brothers-in-law and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Salem Baptist Church Pavilion, Red Oak, VA with Rev. Roger L. Allen, officiating. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a mask will be required for all viewings and services. We ask that you adhere to all guidelines, and practice social distancing. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
