Evangeline Sands Pulliam (Squeaky)

Mrs. Evangeline Sands Pulliam, Better known as Squeaky of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Monday, June 23, 2008 at Washington Hospital Center, Washington, DC. Mrs. Pulliam was born July 11, 1931 to the late Willie F. Sands and Hattie Sands of Shelby, NC. She attended Thyne Institute in Chase City, VA. Later in life she met and married Wallace Pulliam Jr. of Boydton, VA, this union was blessed with nine children.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Pulliam Jr. one daughter, Pamela Pulliam, a brother, Willie James Sands and one sister in-law, Earline Downey. She leaves to cherish her precious memories her children, Mrs. Patricia Fuller (Alfred) of Clarksville, VA, Wallace Pulliam  III (Lois) of Oxen Hill, MD, Wray D. Pulliam (Wanda), of Richmond, VA, Anthony Pulliam (Brenda) of Richmond, VA, Cynthia Pulliam  of Oxen Hill, MD, Alvin Pulliam and Willie Pulliam both of Chase City, VA, Patty Watkins (Curtis) of Oxen Hill, MD; 20 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, three sisters, Geneva Tucker ( Walter) of Newark, NJ, Betty Crutchfield (Thomas) of Boydton, VA and Shirley Hester, (Joseph) of Chase City, VA; one brother, John Henry Sands; four sisters-in-law, Clara Bell Hardy and Dorothy Lewis both of Boydton, VA, Mary Hodges of NJ and Louise Snow of South Carolina; two devoted friends Ms. Ruth Hayes and Ms. Virginia Ardell Powell and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.  Funeral services for Mrs. Evangeline Sands Pulliam will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Sunday, June 29, 2008 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Boydton, VA with Rev. Tyrone Pulliam, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service 1304 North Main Street, Chase City, VA.
