Eugene Marshall Mangum

Mr. Eugene Marshall Mangum, 71, entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 21, 2007 at his residence in Skipwith, VA.Mr. Mangum was born in Mecklenburg County, VA February 1, 1936 to the late Roy and Louise Mangum. He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Clarksville, VA. He worked as a carpenter and was a retiree of Burlington Industries.Cherishing his memories is his wife Estelle Barnes of Skipwith, VA; two sons, Erwin Gillespie (Theola) of Oxford, NC and Eugene Mangum (Emily) of Virginia Beach, VA; four daughters, Thelma Goode  and Carolyn L. Mangum (Calvin) all of Clarksville, VA, Vanessa Hosmer of Livermore, CA, Allyson Hillard of South Boston, VA and Brenda Love of Skipwith, VA; 22 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Milo Mangum (Hazel) of Creedmoor, NC,  Larry Goode (Mary) of Alexandria, VA, Robert Goode (Alice) and Tony Goode (Tara) all of Clarksville, VA; four sisters, Geneva Oliver (Merlice) of Woodbridge, VA, Mary Jane Nelson of New Jersey, Shirley Revis (Karl) of Clarksville, VA and Carolyn Downey (David) of Durham, NC and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.Funeral Services for Mr. Eugene Marshall Mangum will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA with Rev. ChesterTerry, officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Clarksville, VA. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Dec. 26, from 7 until 8 P.M. at C. H. Harris Funeral Home.Arrangements are by C.H.
