Ethel L. Tucker

Mrs. Ethel L. Tucker, 93, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Friday, November 26, 2010 at Richmond Community Hospital, Richmond, VA. Mrs. Tucker was born in Baltimore, MD February 21, 1917 to the late James and Sarah Tisdale Bigger. She attended Thyne Institute in Chase City, VA and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Chase City, VA. She was formerly employed at Wesco Motel and the Mecklenburg Country Club. In addition to her parents Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her husband, Perry F. Tucker Sr., two daughters, Jean T. Tripp and Marion T. Johnson; three sisters, Gladys Bigger, Idella B. Morris and Dorothy B. Hicks. Cherishing her memories are one daughter, Loretta T. Worthen of Philadelphia, PA; one son, Perry F. Tucker Jr. of Richmond, VA; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; three sisters, Elizabeth B. Lee of Bronx, NY, Beatrice B. Clarkson, and Eleanor B. Green both of Philadelphia, PA; five nieces, two nephews and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel L. Tucker will be conducted 2:30 P.M. Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. Dr. Ricky A. Lee, officiating. Burial will follow in Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
