Ethel Allen Harris

Mrs. Ethel Allen Harris, 92, of Skipwith, VA entered eternal rest Monday, April 22, 2019 at Chase City Health and Rehab Center. Mrs. Harris was born in Mecklenburg County, VA April 27, 1926 to the late Isaac and Cora Hutcheson Allen. She attended Holly Rock School in Skipwith, VA and at an early age became a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church; there she served as a Deaconess. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and helping with the food bank. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Harris, three sisters and four brothers. Left to cherish her precious memories are a son, Ronald Harris; a daughter, Patricia Harris; two grandchildren; sister, Mary Etta Brown, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Allen Harris will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Rocky Mount Baptist Church, Skipwith, VA with Elder Charles D. Allen delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Harris Family Cemetery, Skipwith, VA. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
