Ervin Faines

Mr. Ervin Faines, 60, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Wednesday, March 28, 2007 in Grayson, KY.Mr. Faines was born in Vance County, NC May 15, 1946 to the late Susie and Columbus Faines. He was a 1964 graduate of Henderson Institute and was a graduate of Vance-Granville Community College. He also was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of Mount Mitchell Baptist Church, Drakes Branch, VA, where he served on the Usher Board, Senior Choir, Trustee Board, and the Male Chorus.Mr. Faines was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.Cherishing his memories is his wife, Juanita Faines of Chase City, VA; a daughter, Sharon (Kassius) of Henderson, NC; three step-children, Tracy Walker (Terrance) of Richmond, VA, Cetric Gayles (Melissa) of Farmville, VA and Roger Gayles of South Hill, VA; two grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; four sisters, Louise Hargrove (Alexander), Millie Faines, Susie Thomas (Isaac) and Linda Overby all of Henderson, NC; four brothers, Mahlon Faines (Annie) of Irvington, NJ, Columbus Faines (Rosa Mae), Eugene Faines (Beverly) and Lee Faines (Carolyn) all of Henderson, NC; seven sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.Funeral services for Mr. Ervin Faines will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 2, 2007 at Mount Mitchell Baptist Church, Drakes Branch, VA with Rev. Fran Jackson, officiating. Burial with military and Masonic rites will follow in the church cemetery.Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1304 North Main Street, Chase City, VA.
