Deacon Ernest Alford Williamson, 76, of Halifax, VA entered eternal rest Sunday, March 18, 2007 at Halifax Regional Hospital, Halifax, VA. Deacon Williamson was born in Mecklenburg County, VA June 10, 1930 to the late Rev. James Shelly and Sarah Faulkner Williamson. He was educated in the Mecklenburg County Public School System and was a member of Cherry Hill Baptist Church, Buffalo Junction, VA. Deacon Williamson was a retiree of Potts and Callahan Construction Company, Baltimore, MD. He was preceded in death by one brother, Henry Watkins and one sister, Heneritta W. Fountain. Cherishing his memories is his wife, Mary Eliza Williamson of Halifax, VA; one son, Deacon Ervin J. Talley (Catherine) of Halifax, VA, one daughter, Patricia Mitchell Ball of Pennsylvania; four grandsons, Ervin A. and DeWayne L. Talley, Ervin A. Talley II and Damien Ward all of Baltimore, MD, four granddaughters, Ebony A., Essence A., Emaya A., and Keleyah C. Talley; four brothers, John Williamson (Rev. Jessie) of Washington, DC, James Williamson (Evelyn) of Colonial Heights, VA, Samuel Williamson (Willie) of South Boston, VA and Jerry Williamson (Ann) of Orlando, FL; two sisters, Frances W. Newton of Peekskill, NY and Pauline Williamson-Armstrong of Orlando, FL; one sister-in-law, Clarine Watkins of Bowie, MD; a devoted cousin Anna Fuller, a devoted niece, Yvonne Hart of Baltimore, MD, a godson James Butler (Linda) of Towson, MD the Byrd family and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Deacon Ernest Alford Williamson will be conducted 12:00 Noon Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Cherry Hill Baptist Church, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Antonel Myler officiating. Burial will follow in the Williamson family cemetery, Buffalo Junction, VA. The family will receive friends on Friday evening at C.H. Harris Funeral Home, Clarksville, VA from 6 until 8 P.M. and on Saturday morning from 11:00 A.M. until 11:45 A.M. at Cherry Hill Baptist Church. Arrangements are by C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 216 4th street, Clarksville, VA.
