Mr. Erik Amahad Smith, 17, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Tuesday, June 23, 2015. Erik was born in Halifax County, VA April 9, 1998 to Eric Smith and Wilma Clark Smith. He was a rising senior at Bluestone High School in Skipwith, VA. Erik enjoyed baseball, football, track and weightlifting. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Harry Lee Clark and one uncle, Ernest Smith. Cherishing his memories are his parents, Eric and Wilma Clark Smith of Chase City, VA; four brothers, Evan Smith, Jaylen Clark and Devon Parrish all of Chase City, VA and Quentin Smith of Danville, VA; one sister, Jasmine Smith of Burlington, NC; maternal grandmother, Edith Clark of Chase City, VA; paternal grandparents, Louie and Alberta Smith of Chase City, VA; four aunts, Darlene C. Hayes (Eric), Shawn Clark, Brenda Hatcher and Tamie Clark; three uncles, Jeffrey Clark, Edward Smith and Eric Hayes; great-uncles, seven great-aunts; a devoted cousin, Kelly Hatcher and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Erik Amahad Smith will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 27, 2015 at The Robert E. Lee Auditorium, 121 E. Second Street, Chase City, VA with Rev. Linda Goode, officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Mount Baptist Church Cemetery, Skipwith, VA. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 7 P.M. at the funeral home. The family request that everyone dress casual and not to wear black. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA. Services 2:00 P.M.
