Mrs. Emma Gray Austin, 85, of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest Saturday, August 19, 2006 at W. S. Hundley Annex, South Hill, VA. Mrs. Austin was born in Mecklenburg County, VA November 3, 1920 to the late Charles G. and Mamie Baskerville Alexander. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Boydton, VA, where she served as a deaconess. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard Austin, one grandchild and all of her siblings. Cherishing her memories are seven children, Gertrude Carroll of Baskerville, VA, Joe Austin (Joyce), Lucille Lee (John), Catherine Hill, Mary Harris, Sheila Baskerville (McKinley) all of Boydton, VA and Bernice Reynolds (James) of Bowie, MD; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Gray Austin will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at New Hope Baptist Church, Boydton, VA with Rev. Earl Terry, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Arrangements are by C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation service, 216 4th Street, Clarksville, VA.
