Emerson E. Newton

Mr. Emerson E. Newton 82, of Laurel MD and formerly of Buffalo Junction, VA entered eternal rest Tuesday, June 16, 2009.  Mr. Newton was born in Virginia May 10, 1927 to the late James and Bertha Reed Newton. He was a retired employee of the U.S. Dept of Agriculture and a U.S. Army Veteran. Mr. Newton was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Newton, three brothers, George, Jimmy and Willie; and one sister, Etta Newton.  Cherishing his memories are seven children, Linda Thorton (Colonel), Donald Newton, Jacqueline Newton, Mozelle Terry (Michael), Vincent Newton (Shirley), Angela Parker (Leon), Kathy Dunton (Carlos); 27 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, one sister, Sarah Wilkerson; one aunt, Mrs. Anna Fuller, devoted nephew, William Moore and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.  The family will receive friends Monday, June 22, 2009 from 6 until 8 P.M. at C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
