Elsie Brown Ellis

Mrs. Elsie Brown Ellis 89, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Halifax Regional hospital, South Boston, VA. Mrs. Brown was born in Charlotte County, VA June 19, 1922 to the late John and Annie Pettus Brown. She attended the schools of Charlotte County, VA and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Drakes Branch, VA. She was an employed at Hampco Apparel for 30 plus years prior to retiring. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by her husband, John Ellis and nine brothers and sisters. Cherishing her memories are four children, Ruth Hester (Woodrow) of Richmond, VA, John Daniel Ellis (Elizabeth) of Brooklyn, NY, Michael Ellis and Erma Hatcher both of Chase City, VA; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Elsie Brown Ellis will be conducted 12:00 Noon Saturday, October 15, 2011 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Marvin Harris, officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown Family Cemetery, Drakes Branch, VA. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
