Ellen Mccargo Daniel

Mrs. Ellen McCargo Daniel, 84 of Saxe, VA entered eternal rest Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Wayland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Keysville, VA. Mrs. Daniel was born in Charlotte County, VA September 22, 1929 to the late Will and Evergreen Saunders McCargo. She attended the schools of Charlotte County and was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church. She served as a Deaconess, Usher and Missionary. She was formerly employed at Clover Yarns. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Scott Lee Daniel, four brothers and two sisters. She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Corine Crawley of Saxe, VA; three sisters, Beatrice Boyd of Largo, MD, May Cousin of Newark, NJ and Shirley King of Saxe, VA; three sisters-in-law, Mannie Wylie, Hattie and Katie McCargo; one brother-in-law, Roy Wylie; devoted extended family Gracie Pulliam, Hazel Mosley, Louise Davis and Evelyn Abrams and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Ellen McCargo Daniel will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Rocky Branch Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA with Rev. Dr. James E. Scott, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.  Service 11:00 A.M.
