Elizabeth Harris Boyd

Mrs. Elizabeth Harris Boyd, 82, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Friday, October 6, 2017 at her residence. Mrs. Boyd was born in Chase City, VA April 3, 1935 to the late John and Edna Finch Harris. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA. At an early age she joined Silone Baptist Church where she served on the Senior Usher Board and assisted with the Kitchen Committee. Mrs. Boyd was previously employed by Jonbil, Inc. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Boyd, Sr.; one sister, Betty Smith, and two brothers, John Harris, Jr. and Herman Harris. Cherishing her memories are two children, Peggy A. Tisdale (Furman) of Valdosta, GA and Alfred Boyd, Jr. of Chase City, VA; three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mamie Smith and Renetta Marable, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Harris Boyd will be conducted 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Silone Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. Norman Robinson, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
