Mrs. Elizabeth Goode Elam Cheatham, 67, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Sunday, May 6, 2007 at Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA.Mrs. Cheatham was born in Halifax County, VA Sept. 28, 1939 to the late Wyatt and Pauline Harris Goode. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Wylliesburg, VA and a homemaker.Cherishing her memories are her husband, James T. Cheatham of Chase City, VA; eight children, Conrad Elam, III, Barbara Elam, Michael Elam, Frances Elam , Edward Elam and Jackie Elam all of Chase City, VA, Sandra White of Skipwith, VA Yvonne Elam-Ford of Baltimore, MD; four step-children, Jackie Jeffers of Boston, MA, Marcia Rawlings, Janet Wilson and Lakeisha Cheatham all of Saxe, VA; 13 grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen Pulliam of Fort Mitchell, VA; one brother, Harrison Goode of Union, NJ; three sons-in-law, two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Mrs. Cheatham was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Goode Elam Cheatham will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 11, 2007 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Marvin Harris, officiating. Burial will follow in the family cemetery, Skipwith, VA.Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1304 North Main Street, Chase City, VA.
