Edward Thomas Miller

Mr. Edward Thomas Miller, 79, of Chase City, VA transitioned peacefully from his earthly life into eternal rest Friday, February 16, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Miller was born on January 23, 1939 in Orange, NJ to the late Ella Ferguson Miller and Edwin Thomas Miller. He received his education at West Side High School in Newark, NJ and Union County College in Union, New Jersey. He served four years in the United States Air Force. Mr. Miller was a member of Second Baptist Church in Rahway, NJ and was previously employed as a shift supervisor and account clerk for Grief Brothers & Sons in Carteret, NJ. He was a model train enthusiast and an avid bowler. In addition to his parents, Mr. Miller was preceded in death by a son, Edward Thomas Miller III; two sisters, Juanita Ford and Lillie Davis, and a brother, Earl Miller. Cherishing his memory is his wife, Delores Miller; one sister, Parthenea Gillison; sister-in-law, Gertrude Sands; brothers-in-law, Alfred Thomas, Ronald Thomas, Alvin Thomas (Joyce), Tyree Thomas and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Linda Goode delivering the eulogy. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Rahway Cemetery, Rahway, NJ. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
