Edward Lee Harris, Jr.

Mr. Edward Lee Harris, Jr., 72, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest on Monday, July 8, 2019 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA. Mr. Harris was born in Halifax County, VA on August 28, 1946 to the late John and Pocahontas Harris. He received his education in the Halifax County Public Schools, and was a long term employee for the Town of Clarksville. In addition to his parents, Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his devoted friend, Ella (Butch) Brown; a stepson, Michael Brown, and a brother, John Harris. He leaves to cherish his memories one son, Edward Lee Harris, III (Ebonie) of Raleigh, NC; one stepson, Isador Brown (Monique) of Burlington, NC; two stepdaughters, Rhonda B. Cypress (Anthony) of Clarksville, VA and Lakita J. Brown (Daniel) of Durham, NC; two sisters, Gay Barksdale and Marie Harris, both of South Boston, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Edward Lee Harris, Jr. will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Sunday, July 14, 2019 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Annie T. Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in St. Matthew Baptist Church Cemetery, Clarksville, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
