Edgar Royster

Mr. Edgar Royster, 94, of Stem, NC and formerly of Bullock, NC entered eternal rest on Sunday, June 23, 2019 in Stem, NC. Mr. Royster was born in Granville, NC on February 26, 1925 to the late Samuel and Lucy Royster. He received his education in the Granville County Public Schools, later joining the US Navy where he sailed on the USS Columbia as a Steward 1st Class Petty Officer. Mr. Royster was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church #2, Clarksville, VA where he served in the capacity of Trustee, Missionary, and Usher. He was honored as Emeritus Usher at the age of 90. Mr. Royster was a retiree of Macra Lace, Inc and a US Navy veteran. In addition to his parents, Mr. Royster was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Small Royster. Left to cherish his precious memories are two sons, Pastor Reginald G. Royster (Mary) of Oxford, NC and Minister Bernard Royster (Annette) of Stem, NC; one daughter, Trennis R. Jefferson (Connell) of Oxford, NC; four grandchildren, Brian Royster, Bernard Royster, Jr., Sharnae Jefferson and Miya Jefferson; two sisters-in-law, Zola Royster and Gladys Thornton both of Bullock, NC ; special nephew, William Henry Sneed of Stovall, NC, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral Services for Mr. Edgar Royster will be conducted 1:00 P. M. Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Cedar Grove Baptist Church #2, Clarksville, VA with Rev. Cornelius Ogburn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
