Eddie Raymnd Martin, Sr.

Mr. Eddie Raymond Martin, Sr., 71, of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest Monday, June 23, 2014 at Community Memorial Healthcenter, South Hill, VA. Mr. Martin was born in Mecklenburg County, VA February 5, 1943 to the late George Sr. and Patti Smith Martin.  He received his education in the Mecklenburg County School System and was a member of Union Hill RZUA Church in Baskerville, VA. On June 14, 1965, he married Ola Mae Mayfield.  Mr. Martin was a former employee of Burlington Industries. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Chester Martin and one sister, Eula Martin. Cherishing his memory are his wife, Ola Mae Martin of Boydton, VA; three sons, Eddie Martin, Jr. of Boydton, VA, Eddie Martin, III of Petersburg, VA and Carl Alexander of California, a stepson, Wilbert Mayfield of Baskerville, VA; two grandchildren, Leonte and Lashonda Martin; two step-grandchildren, Chermir and Tynesha Mayfield; two brothers, Thomas Martin (Shelly) of Boydton, VA and George Martin, Jr. (Beverly) of Clarksville, VA; two sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; special friends E. B. Harris and Brenda Ramsey and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Eddie Raymond Martin, Sr. will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Elder Kenyatta Evans , officiating. Burial will follow in the Martin Family Cemetery, Boydton, VA.  Public viewing for family and friends will be held Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C. H.
