Mr. Earl Junior Morse, 80, of Ashland, VA and formerly of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest Thursday, October 26, 2012 at the residence of his daughter in Chesterfield, VA. Mr. Morse was born in Boydton, VA August 3, 1932 to the late John and Anna Belle Benson Morse. He was a graduate of historic Thyne Institute of Chase City, VA. After graduating Mr. Morse moved to Summit, NJ and was employed at Graystone Hospital. He later was employed at the New Jersey Dept. of Veteran Affairs Hospital where he retired after 42 years of service. He retired from the U.S. Army and Army Reserve after 30 years of service. Cherishing his memories are his wife, Helen Gregory Morse; two daughters, Phyllis Morse-Doctry of Chesterfield, VA and Cheryl Morse-Rogers (Harold) of North Chesterfield, VA; six siblings, Richard C. Morse, Sterling J. Morse, Anna B. Taylor, Marie (Dolly) E. Eugene, Irene Carter, Florence Morse and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Earl Morse will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Saint Taylor RZUA Church, Boydton, VA with Rev. Lovely Moore, officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Saint Taylor RZUA Church Cemetery, Boydton, VA. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church. There will no viewing on Tuesday. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
