Dorothy S. Smith

Mrs. Dorothy S. Smith, age 96, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Friday, February 07, 2020 at Imperial Plaza, Richmond, VA. Mrs. Smith was born in Chase City, VA December 3, 1923 to the late Frank, Sr. and Annie Whittle Smith. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA, and was a faithful member of Bluestone Baptist Church in Skipwith, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Smith; four sisters, Ruby, Marjorie, Lenora and Annie B., and her brother, Frank. Cherishing her memories are three sons, John F. (Debra) of Richmond, VA, Marvin L. (Gerri) of Richmond, VA and Dr. Milton T. (Renee) of Silver Spring, MD and Cincinnati, OH; five grandchildren, Frankie (Nikki), Derek, Tanya, Melanie and Meredith (David); eight great-grandchildren, Charee, Taryn, Tyler, Cydney, Chandler, J-Lyne, Alexia and Montrey; four great-great-grandchildren, Jace, Aeri, Jathan and Jada, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy S. Smith will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Bluestone Baptist Church, Skipwith, VA with Rev. Lawrence T. Wilkerson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing and visitation will begin on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
