Dorothy Royster Burwell

Mrs. Dorothy Royster Burwell, 88, of Bullock, NC entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at Franklin Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Louisburg, NC. Mrs. Burwell was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on December 1, 1931 to the late James and Effie Henderson Royster. She attended West End High School, and was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church #2 in Clarksville, VA. She was formerly employed by Burlington Industries, retiring in 1992. Mrs. Burwell was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Adam Burwell, Sr. Cherishing her loving memories are her children, Earnest Burwell, Jr. (Sharon), Freddie Burwell, Brenda Burwell Davis (Reginald), Archie Burwell (Wanda) and Donald Burwell (Pattie), 20 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Due to the mandates from Governor Ralph Northam, a private graveside service was conducted 12:00 Noon Sunday, April 26, 2020 at Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Freddie Burwell, delivering the eulogy. Public viewing was held on Saturday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
