Dorothy M. Johnson

Mrs. Dorothy M. Johnson, 90, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA. Mrs. Johnson was born February 17, 1931 in Mecklenburg County, VA to the late William Henry Murray and Marie Hilliard Murray. At a young age, she relocated to Newark, NJ where she resided for over 60 years. While in New Jersey, she met and married the late Hayward Johnson; that union lasted for 30 plus years. While there, she joined St. Paul Baptist Church. She later moved back to her hometown in June of 2018. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers. She leaves to cherish her memories three stepchildren; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two devoted sisters, Virgie Murray and Addie Roberts; two nephews she raised as her own, Henry Lee Steward and Tommie Steward; a devoted friend Kim Carson, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy M. Johnson will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 13, 2021 in the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Larry Green officiating. Interment will follow in St. John Baptist Church Cemetery, Buffalo Junction, VA. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, seating will be limited, and a mask will be required for all viewings and services. We ask that you adhere to all guidelines, and practice social distancing.
