Mrs. Dorothy Lee Watson Davis, 85 of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Chase City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Davis was born in Plantersville Community of Lunenburg County, VA. September 12, 1927 one of fifteen children born to Matthew and Fannie Roberts Watson. She was a 1946 graduate of Lunenburg County High School. Mrs. Davis was a member of Mount Mitchell Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, usher, secretary for the Missionary Society, sang on the choir and was sexton until her health began to decline. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Saunders Davis, seven brothers: William, Ralph, George, Charlie, Darc, James, and Robert: and seven sisters: Mary, Bertha, Thelma, Mirtis, Hester, Bessie and Viola Cherishing her memories are one son, Reginald S. Davis (Gracie) of Chase City, VA; one granddaughter, Robyn Davis of Arlington, VA,  two step-grandsons, Reggie Smith of Annapolis, MD and Kevin Smith of Oxford, NC; a host of nephews, nieces, devoted friends of the Drakes Branch Elderly Apartments as well as the patients and staff of Chase City Nursing and Rehabilitation and a vast number of other loving friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Lee Watson Davis will be conducted 12:00 Noon Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Mount Mitchell Baptist Church, Drakes Branch, VA with Rev. Fran S. Jackson, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.    Services 12:00 Noon Tuesday, July 9, 2013 Mount Mitchell Baptist Church Drakes Branch, Virginia Interment Church Cemetery Family Visitation Monday, July 8, 2013 6 until 7:00 P.M. Public Viewing Monday, July 8, 2013 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M.
