Dorothy Jean Day

Miss Dorothy Jean Day, 76, of Buffalo Junction, VA entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 5, 2021 in Clinton, MD. Miss Day was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on June 18, 1945 to the late Piercie Cromwell and Tassie Maude-Ethel Day. She graduated from West End High School on June 7, 1965. Miss Day was formerly employed by the Virginia Hospital Center (known as Arlington Hospital), retiring after 42 years of service. During her career, she served as a technician and surgical patient transporter. She was an active member of Wharton Memorial Baptist Church where she sang with the Senior Choir. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Melvin Day, Hazel Boxley, Eula Downey, Benjamin Day, her twin brother, Joseph Day, and Charles Day. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her devoted daughter, Tori, and her son-in-law Terrance; grandsons, Devon and Tony; great-grandson, Carson; her brother, Clifton Day; sisters, Clara Trawick and Sara Burton (Clinton); sisters-in-law, Sylvia Day and Lillian Day; God-daughter, Eulanda Wellons, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services with limited seating of 50 for Miss Dorothy Jean Day will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Sunday, December 12, 2021 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Darryl T. Howard, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Wharton Memorial Garden, Nelson, VA. Public viewing will begin on Sunday from 11:00 A.M. until 12:45 P.M. A mask is required for all viewings and services. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
