Dorothy Dea Barnes (Shug)

Miss Dorothy Dea Barnes (Shug), 46, of Blackstone, VA and formerly of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Friday, December 4, 2015 at The Laurel of Bon Air, Richmond, VA. Miss Barnes was born in Newark, NJ April 6, 1969 to Evelin Barnes and the late George Oliver, Jr.  Dorothy worked as a machine operator at Sherwood Foods and as a CNA at Chase City  Health Rehabilitation Center. Cherishing her memories are three daughters, Lakeshia Barnes, Alesia Barnes and Tabitha Barnes all of Blackstone, VA; four grandchildren, Te’Asia Barnes, ZaYana Barnes, Za’Kiyah Barnes and Mar’lecia Fields; her mother, Eveline Barnes Walker and step-father, Russell Walker, Jr. both  of Chase City, VA; three brothers, Russell Harvey Walker III, Alexander Walker and Raymond Barnes; two sisters, Carsandra Barnes and Kim Walker both of Richmond, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Miss Dorothy Dea Barnes (Shug) will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Elder Kenyatta Evans delivering the Eulogy. Interment will be private. Public viewing and family visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA. Services 2:00 P.M.
