Dorothy Boyd Watson

Mrs. Dorothy Boyd Watson, 79, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at her residence.

Mrs. Watson was born in Charlotte County, VA on May 14, 1943 to the late Mitchell and Lona McCargo Boyd. She attended the public schools of Charlotte County, and was a member of Greater Union Baptist Church in Chase City. Mrs. Watson was formerly employed as a seamstress for Jonbil, Inc. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending quality time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Watson, four sisters and four brothers.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory four sons, Roy Lee Robinson (Chaka), Elijah Robinson and Robert Watson all of Chase City, VA and James Robinson (Debra) of Warrenton, NC; two daughters, Yvonne Russell (Ralph) and Tina Watson both of Chase City, VA; sixteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; one brother, John Boyd of Chase City, VA, five sisters-in-law, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Boyd Watson will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Linda Goode officiating. Burial will follow in Silone Memorial Garden, Chase City VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
