Dorothy A. Johnson

Ms. Dorothy A. Johnson 81, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Saturday, March 28, 2009 at her residence. Ms. Johnson was born in Whitefield, NH January 23, 1928 to the late Leslie and Carlena Holmes Baker. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene of Douglas, MA and a homemaker. Ms. Johnson lived in Douglas, MA for most of her life. She had a dream. She fulfilled that dream when she moved to Virginia with her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Earl Racicot, 18 months ago. She said it was a gift from God and she enjoyed things she would have never seen otherwise. Ms. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Leslie and Maurice Baker. Cherishing her memories are three children, Carol Racicot (Earl) of Chase City, VA, Thelma Schofield (Steve) of Rutland, MA and Leonard Johnson Jr. (Barbara) of Douglas, MA; three grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; five sisters, Barbara Colburn of California, Claire Wright, Glenn Morrow, Janet Beaton and Eleanor Steven all of New Hampshire; one brother, Paul Baker of Douglas, MA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Ms. Johnson will be forwarded to Douglas, MA where funeral services will be conducted and burial will follow in Douglas Center Cemetery, Douglas, MA. Local arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
