Dora Lee Woodson Kelly

Mrs. Dora Lee Woodson Kelly, 90, of Chase City entered eternal rest on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Lakeside Health & Rehabilitation, Richmond, VA.

Mrs. Kelly was born on November 28, 1932 in Vernon Hill, VA to the late Willie Woodson and Lettie (Mayo) Woodson. She married the late John Fletcher Kelly in 1959. She held many jobs throughout her life, but spent her years before retirement providing home health care throughout Mecklenburg County. In her spare time, she loved working in her yard and in her flower garden.

She leaves to cherish her memories three children, Jerome Kelly of North Carolina, Brenda Kelly of Chase City, and Sharon Kelly of Richmond, VA; a sister, Geneva Taylor of Fort Mitchell, VA, and a host of loving nieces, nephews and other family and close friends. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice Care, and the staff of Heritage Hall and Lakeside Health and Rehabilitation for their care of Mrs. Kelly.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dora W. Kelly will be conducted 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 5, 2023 in the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City with Rev. Marvin Harris, officiating. Burial will follow in Ivy Hill Cemetery, Chase City. Public viewing will begin on Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
