Donnie Roberts

Mr. Donnie Roberts, 63, of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 while in the care of Centra Lynchburg General Hospital in Lynchburg, VA.

Mr. Roberts, affectionately known as “BB” by family and friends, was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on March 3, 1960 to the late LT Roberts and Loneda Boyd. He attended the public schools of Mecklenburg County, VA, and was a member of Greater Union Baptist Church in Chase City. Mr. Roberts was formerly employed by Wheaton Tubing (now Nipro Glass Americas) in Chase City. He was also the musician for Mt. Mitchell Baptist Church in Drakes Branch. BB enjoyed playing the keyboard, cooking, playing pool and being with family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Azaeveion Roberts; maternal grandmother, Irene Boyd; and a nephew, Maurice Roberts.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife, Tracy Williams Roberts of Boydton, VA; three daughters, Rreana Williams and Aah’Veana (Poodie) Roberts, both of Boydton, VA and Sheila Bell of Chase City, VA; four grandchildren; two brothers, Roger Lee Boyd and Tyrone Boyd, both of Chase City, VA; three sisters, Juanita Boyd, Barbara Crawley and Phyllis Roberts, all of Chase City, VA, and a host of other loving relatives and caring friends.

A memorial service for Mr. Donnie Roberts will be conducted 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Fran S. Jackson, officiating.
