Dianna T. Morton

Mrs. Dianna T. Morton, 53 of Dolphin, VA entered eternal rest Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at VCU/MCV Hospital, Richmond, VA. Mrs. Morton was born in Mecklenburg County, VA March 27, 1960 to the late Vincent Smith and Ann Bell Craddock-Smith. She was a graduate of Bluestone Senior High School in Skipwith, VA and was a caregiver to multiple children in the local area. She was a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church, Skipwith, VA. In addition to her father, Mrs. Morton was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Boyd and Ruth Hayes. Cherishing her memories are her husband, Miles Morton of Dolphin, VA; one daughter, Alysha Townsend of Hampton, VA; two grandchildren, Jaelyn and Na’Khyia Townsend; her mother, Anna B. Smith of Chase City, VA; three sisters, Linda Smith-Boswell of Chase City, VA, Peggy Moss of Petersburg, VA and Audrey Smith-Fulmore of Richmond, VA; two brothers, Billy Smith of Chase City, VA and Michael Smith of Clarksville, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Dianna T. Morton will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Willie L. Carter, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Mount Baptist Church Cemetery, Skipwith, VA. Public viewing Monday 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M.
