Devin Darnell Brooks

Mr. Devin Darnell Brooks, 32, of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest on Monday, February 20, 2023 at VCU Hospital, Richmond, VA.

Mr. Brooks was born on July 21, 1990 in South Hill, VA to his parents, Woody Drummond and Diana D. Brooks. He received his early education in the Mecklenburg County Public School System, and graduated from Bluestone Senior High School in Skipwith in 2010.

Mr. Brooks showed us how to fight and beat the odds, how to face and overcome obstacles and how to live the life God has given us all while smiling, laughing and praising our way through it. Throughout his life, he faced many challenges, but he overcame them all. Devin was a happy, bubbly soul. He loved children, enjoyed taking car rides and drawing. He was the biggest Batman fan, and had an extensive collection to prove it!

Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Waverly Drummond, Franklin D. Crayton and Lorraine Davis.

He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Diana D. Drummond of Boydton, VA; his father, Woody Drummond (Aretha) of Richmond, VA; two brothers, Jarius L. Drummond (Briana) of South Hill, VA and Jonathan M. Drummond of Boydton, VA; four nephews, Zayden, Christian, Noah, and Ezra; two Godchildren, Ace and Tru Williams; grandparents, Floyd and Shirley G. Williams of Boydton, VA; a special aunt, Romonda Mayo, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Devin Darnell Brooks will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Evangelist Shirley G. Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Open Door Mission Guardian Care Cemetery, Boydton, VA. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
