Dennis James Burwell

Mr. Dennis James Burwell, 64, of Red Oak, VA entered eternal rest on Monday, January 23, 2023.

Mr. Burwell was born in Charlotte County, VA  on March 21, 1958 to the late Jesse Redd and Rosa Burwell. He received his education in the public schools of Charlotte County, VA, and was currently employed by Cardinal Homes of Wylliesburg, VA. In his spare time, Mr. Burwell enjoyed watching westerns, playing horseshoes and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Burwell was preceded in death by one brother, Roy Allen Boyd.

He leaves not to mourn his passing, but to cherish his loving memory one daughter, LaKeisha Mosley of Red Oak, VA; three grandsons, Ke’Yon Mosley (James) of Chase City, VA, Kevon Boyd (Hailey) of Victoria, VA and Russell Thompson of Ferrum, VA; one great-grandson, Kharsyn Boyd; two brothers, James Boyd of Wylliesburg, VA and Arby Redd of Chase City, VA; two devoted friends, Audrey Mosley and Ralph Mosley both of Red Oak, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Dennis James Burwell will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Marvin Harris, officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, Red Oak, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Monday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
