Delphine Crutchfield Clay

Mrs. Delphine Crutchfield Clay, 65, of Nelson, VA entered eternal rest  Monday, September 23, 2013 at Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA. Mrs. Clay was born in Mecklenburg County, VA May 10, 1948 to the late James and Mamie Small Crutchfield.  She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was a member of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, Clarksville, VA.  Mrs. Clay was formerly employed by Burlington Industries. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Gracie Nelson and Reshinre Crutchfield. Cherishing her memories are her husband, William E. Clay, Sr. of Nelson, VA; four children; Danana Clay (Franklin) of Bullock, NC, William Clay, Jr. of Townsville, NC, Vandelisa Clay of Belafonte, MD and Robert Clay of Nelson, VA; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother, Conway Crutchfield of Clarksville, VA; one brother-in-law, Linwood Nelson and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A memorial service for Mrs. Delphine Crutchfield Clay will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 28, 2013 in the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home with Rev. George Bell, officiating.
