Deaconess Lessie H. Blackwell

Deaconess Lessie Hepburn Blackwell, 99, of Victoria, VA entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at VCU Medical Center, Richmond, VA.
Deaconess Blackwell was born in Rehoboth, VA on January 20, 1923 to the late Mence and Rosa Lee Tisdale Hepburn, the last of eight children. She attended the schools of Lunenburg County, VA. She joined Calvary Baptist Church at an early age, and remained a faithful member serving as a Missionary, Deaconess, Secretary of Sunday School and Adult Choir Member. She retired from Jonbil, Inc. after many years of service.
In addition to her parents, Deaconess Blackwell was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas O. Blackwell; seven siblings, Richard, Junius, Earl, Lucile, Alberta, Rosa and Annie, and two sons-in-law, Lynwood Watson and Robert Mitter.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories her daughters, Earlene Watson and Virgie Mitter both of Rehoboth, VA; grandson, Anthony Watson of Rehoboth, VA; granddaughter, Linda Mitter of Chesterfield, VA, four great-grandchildren, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.
Funeral services for Deaconess Lessie H. Blackwell will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 25, 2022 at Calvary Baptist Church, Victoria, VA with Rev. Jasper Cheek officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing will begin on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church.
