Deacon Willie E. Alexander

Deacon Willie E. Alexander, affectionately known as “Edmond”, entered eternal rest on Monday, May 28, 2018 at VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital, South Hill, VA at the age of 87. Deacon Alexander was born in Mecklenburg County, VA June 8, 1930 to the late Robert and Reabelle Alexander. He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was formerly employed with environmental services for Schering Plough, Union, NJ, retiring in 1990. He was a member of Awesome Faith Ministries, La Crosse, VA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Henrietta Beatrice Alexander, six brothers, Robert Lee, Leonard, George, Nelson, James and William, and one sister, Mamie. Cherishing his memories are his wife, Octavia L. Alexander of Skipwith, VA, three daughters, Lessie (Melvin, Sr.) of Boydton, VA, Rolinda of La Crosse, VA and Teresa of Maryland; his wife's children, Patsy, Ronald (Rhonda), Sandra (AZ), Temiches (Willie) and Quincy (ReKeitha); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; five sisters, Anna, Dell (Joe), Sarah, Emma and Rose; three brothers, Herbert (Cynthia), Steven and Frank (Rochelle), and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Deacon Willie E. Alexander will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Awesome Faith Ministries, La Crosse, VA with his daughter, Pastor Rolinda Butler, officiating. Interment will be private. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
