Deacon John Henry Jones, 65, of Oxford, NC entered eternal rest Sunday, August 20, 2006 at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC. Deacon Jones was born in Boydton, VA June 16, 1941 to the late Isaac Jones and Otelia Baskerville Jones. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA and was a retiree of U.S. Steel. Cherishing his memories are his wife Mrs. Sharon Jones of Oxford, NC, three children, Pandora Jones and Marion Fenner of NJ and John Jones Jr. of NC, one step-son, Dennis Lyons of Oxford, NC, one grandchild, two sisters, Marietta Jones of Willingboro, NJ and Naomi Smith of East Stroudsburg, PA; two brothers, Charlie Jones and David Jones both of Richmond, VA; father and mother-in-law, Charles and Gloria Pettiford of Oxford, NC; one son-in-law, one brother-in-law, two sisters-in-law and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Deacon John Henry Jones will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at the chapel of C.H. Harris Funeral Home, Clarksville, VA with burial following in the Meadow View Memorial Park, Oxford, NC.  Arrangements are by C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 216 4th street, Clarksville, VA.
