Deacon Henry Eugene Goode

Deacon Henry Eugene Goode, 61, of Boydton, VA peacefully entered eternal rest on Monday, January 16, 2023 at his residence.
Deacon Goode, affectionately known as “BUSTER”, was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on April 7, 1961 to the late William and Bessie Townes Goode. He attended Mecklenburg County Public Schools, then later attended Elizabeth City University. Deacon Goode was a devoted and faithful member of New St. Douglas Baptist Church, and was also the First Man of Greater Union Baptist Church. He was a retired officer from Baskerville Correctional Center, and in his spare time he enjoyed “CALLING LINDA’S NAME”, watching basketball, Nascar, going fishing, and watching his beloved Dallas Cowboys.
In addition to his parents, Deacon Goode was preceded in death by a sister, Gail Goode.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife of 35 years, Pastor Linda Goode of Boydton, VA; son, Walter Evans, Jr. of Boydton, VA; daughter, RaSheena Goode of Clarksville VA; two special daughters that he raised as his own, Donita Milligan and Margaret Jackson of Suffolk, VA; six grandchildren, Shyheim Webster (India), Nyier and Nasier Evans-Wilson, Walter Evans III, Devin and Destiny Pettus; two great-grandchildren, Mckenzi Wormley, Karter Wilson and his beloved Precious Lambs Daycare babies; two brothers, William Goode, Jr. (Cheryl) and Tom Evans both of Boydton, VA; five sisters, Alveria Hawkins (William) of Chase City, VA, Glenda Osborne (Billy) of South Hill, VA, Gloria Small (Victor) of Skipwith, VA, and Diane Hargrove and Barbara Richardson (John) both of Boydton, VA; one aunt, Sally Parks, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.
Funeral services for Deacon Henry Eugene Goode will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 22, 2023 at New St. Douglas Baptist Church, Boydton, VA with Rev. Dennis King officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, Boydton, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Saturday from 2:00 P.M until 6:00 P.M.
