Mr. David Gene Brogdon, 56, of Richmond, VA entered eternal rest Friday, Sept. 14, 2012. Mr. Brodgon was born in Mecklenburg County, VA to the late Thomas Alfred Brogdon, Jr. and Jean Bell Goode Smith. He attended Mecklenburg County Public Schools and was a member of Silone Baptist Church. He was employed by Jired Trucking. Cherishing his memories are his children, Chris, Antwan, Famien and Ferlandal; siblings, Thomas A. Brogdon (Clara) of Chase City, VA, Carolyn B. Caneda (Douglas) of Laurel, MD, Angela B. Middleton (Matthew) of Fort Washington, MD, Brenda B. Liggon (Lawrence) of Chase City, VA, Rachel B. Johnson (Michael) of Chase City, VA, Joyce B. Hayes (Donald) of Colonial Heights, VA, Debra J. Patterson (Allen) of Chase City, VA and Janice S. Semper of Clinton, MD; one uncle, Raymond Goode of Drakes Branch, VA; three aunts, Barbara Hepburn and Ruby Bullock of Chase City, VA and Joanne Kersey of Clarksville, VA; one great-aunt, Martha Samuels of Flushing, NY and a  vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. David Gene Brogdon will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA with Rev. Melvin J. Palmer, officiating. Burial will follow in Silone Memorial Gardens, Chase City, VA. Viewing for Mr. Brogdon will be 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M.Wednesday. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
