Daniel Buddy Hargrove

Mr. Daniel Buddy Hargrove, 88, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA. Mr. Hargrove was born in Mecklenburg County, VA February 3, 1931 to the late William and Lucy Davis Hargrove. He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA, and was formerly employed by AVCO Lycoming. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and gardening. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hargrove was preceded in death by his wife, Reva Boyd Hargrove; sons, Darvin Freeman Hargrove, Rodney Buddy Hargrove, Dan Hargrove and Daniel Hargrove, and five siblings. Those left to cherish his precious memory are three daughters, Merrin Hargrove of New Haven, CT, Jacqueline Daly (John) of Naugatuck, CT and Joyce Hargrove of Bridgeport, CT; two sons, Jerome Hargrove, Sr. of Chase City, VA and Timothy Hargrove (Stella) of Bridgeport, CT; ten grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Reneete Marable and Mamie Smith; cherished friends, Tammie Tisdale, Jessie Boyd, Albert Toombs and Irvin Lee Tucker, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Linda Goode delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in Silone Memorial Garden, Chase City, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
