Corine A. Smith

Ms. Corine Atkins Smith, 80 of Red Oak, VA entered eternal rest Friday, August 17, 2007 at her residence.Ms. Smith was born in Charlotte County, VA July 16, 1927 to the late Herbert and Grace Watkins Atkins. She attended the Charlotte County Public Schools, was a graduate of Saint Paul’s College, Lawrenceville, VA and was a retired guidance counselor for Nottoway County Public Schools. At an early age she was baptized at Salem Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA.Cherishing her memories is one son, Alvin N. Smith (Diane) of Baltimore, MD; one grandson, Joshua Daniel Smith of Baltimore, MD; three sisters, I. Belle Atkins and Helen A. Gibson both of Red Oak, VA, and Venoy A. Barbour of North Babylon, NY; two brothers, Albert D. Atkins (Albena) of Chase City, VA and Robert H. Atkins of Maryland and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.Funeral services for Ms. Corine Atkins Smith will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Reginald Davis, officiating. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Chase City Rescue Squad, PO Box 81, Chase City, VA, 23924.
