Mr. Corey Wendell White Sr., 45, of Chase City, VA, entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Duke University Hospital, Durham, NC. Mr. White was born April 10, 1977 at Halifax Community Hospital in South Boston, VA to Percy Holmes White, Sr. and Margaret Saunders White. At an early age, he was baptized and joined Saint Luke Baptist Church. He attended Sunday School and was a member of the Junior Choir. Mr. White was a 1995 graduate of Bluestone Senior High School. After graduation, he attended Southside Virginia Community College, receiving his CDL to become a Truck Driver. He was self-employed and loved his trucking business, DBA CW White Trucking. Mr. White was a member of the Knights of Pythagoras, and later followed in his father's footsteps to become a member of the RC Yancey Masonic Lodge #284. Corey enjoyed the company of loving family and friends. He was a fun-loving person who loved to make people laugh. His hobbies were doing whatever his brother, Shawn, was doing: hunting and riding his four-wheelers. Mr. White was preceded in death by his brother, Shawn Jermaine White; his paternal grandparents, Norman and Laura Belle White and maternal grandparents: Garfield and Negoldie Saunders. He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife, Keisha Spruill White of Chase City, VA; one daughter, Keori White; two sons, Zykor White and Corey White, Jr.; and one stepson, Cordale Hayes all of Chase City, VA; his loving parents, Percy H. White, Sr. and Margaret S. White of Chase City, VA; one brother, Percy White, Jr. (Alicia) of Burkes, VA; one sister, Alisha White, of Richmond, VA; three nephews, Christopher White and Shawn White, Jr. both of Greenville, NC and Malik White of Chase City, VA; two nieces, Ayana White of Richmond, VA and Katelyn White of Burkes, VA; four uncles, Norman White, Jr., Earnest White, Maxie Clay, and Willie Thomas; five aunts, Lila Clay, Juanita White, Alice Thomas, Gloria White, and Tammy White; father and mother-in-law, Ralph and Yvonne Russell; brother-in-law, Javon Ghee, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Corey W. White, Sr. will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 4, 2022 at St. Luke Baptist Church Cemetery, Skipwith, VA with Rev. Franklin Watson, II delivering the eulogy. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. A mask is required for all viewings. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
