Mr. Clyde Staten, 59, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Saturday, June 18, 2016 at VCU/Community Memorial Healthcenter, South Hill, VA. Mr. Staten was born in Charlotte County, VA October 17, 1956 to Betty Wilson Mosley. He attended Charlotte County Public Schools and was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA. He was a former employee of Lewis Tree Service. Cherishing his memories are his wife, Arlene Staten of Drakes Branch, VA; one daughter, Felicia Boyd of Drakes Branch, VA; one grandson, Arzavyon Boyd; his mother, Betty Wilson Mosley of Wylliesburg, VA; four sisters, Rachel Staten (Claiborne) of Drakes Branch, VA, Rita Bullock of Chase City, VA, Brenda Perkins (Terrell) of Charlotte Court House, VA, Sherbeth Thompson (Emmanuel Sr.) of Chase City, VA; two brothers, Rev. Phillip Staten, Sr. and Oliver Staten both of Wylliesburg, VA ; one sister-in-law, Christine Boyd; one brother-in-law, Charles Boyd of Wylliesburg, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 24, 2016 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with his brother Rev. Phillip Staten, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, Red Oak, VA. Public viewing will begin Thursday 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
