Clyde A. Boyd Sr.

Mr. Clyde Alfred Boyd Sr., 73, of Red Oak, VA entered eternal rest Monday, April 14, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Boyd was born in Charlotte County, VA March 7, 1935 to the late William and Susie Goode Boyd. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Wylliesburg, VA and was a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by one son, Freddie L. Boyd and one grandchild, Jacqueline Craighead. Cherishing his memories is his wife, Mrs. Elvira J. Boyd of Red Oak, VA; eight children, Catherine E. Boyd, Clyde A. Boyd Jr., Thelma B. Craighead, David J. Boyd and Lottie L. Boyd all of Red Oak, VA, Olia Daniel (Silas) of Randolph, VA, Peggy B. Boyd, Drakes Branch, VA and Frank A. Boyd (Consuelo) of Fort Meade, MD; 24 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel Mosley of Randolph, VA and Estell Boyd of Red Oak, VA; two sisters-in-law, Hattie McCargo and Mary Goode; one brother-in-law, Henry Redd and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Clyde A. Boyd Sr. will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 18, 2008 at First Baptist Church, Wylliesburg, VA with Rev. Opie Terrell, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1304 North Main Street, Chase city, VA.
