Cleotis Brown

Mr. Cleotis Brown, 69, of Nelson, VA entered eternal rest on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at his residence.

Mr. Brown was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on March 23, 1954 to the late Charles Hestor and Lessie May Downey Brown. He was a graduate of Bluestone Senior High School in Skipwith, VA, and was a member of Wharton Memorial Baptist Church in Nelson, VA. Mr. Brown was a former Heavy Equipment Operator for the city of Alexandria, VA for thirty-nine years. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars, fishing and landscaping.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Lucas Brown.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his son, Cleotis Hamm; stepson; Ian Lucas; two daughters, Shamika Hill of Alexandra, VA and Shanika Hill of Maryland; four grandchildren, De’Aundre Hill, Nia Hill, Maya Hill, and Alphonso Hitch; six great-grandchildren, Noah Hill, Novah Hill, La’Naeah G. Hill, Shanika Hill, Jaalen Hill and Justice Hill; brother, Dan Brown of Washington, DC; his devoted friend, Jannette Coles, three sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funerals services for Mr. Cleotis Brown will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 23, 2024 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Elder Charles Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Oakhurst Cemetery, Clarksville, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will begin on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M.
